why yoga?

Because it helps to find balance in life and let’s be honest, achieving it in today’s fast-paced world can be a real challenge! We tend to strive for perfection in all areas of life: trying to be successful at work, be compassionate with children, have a rich social life, and maybe even run marathons. These increasing expectations we impose on ourselves may eventually lead to a crisis. Trust me; I know what I’m talking about because I’ve been there.

Then I encountered yoga, and things changed. The practice taught me to let go of most of my expectations. It also made me realize that my body’s main function isn’t to carry the brain around. I understood that the body has its wisdom and that once we learn to respect the signals it sends us, life gets better. Nowadays, each time I roll out my mat, I know that my ‘me time’ is coming. It’s one of the few moments throughout the day when I can slow down and ask myself what I really need.
